In this daylong training program, participants will be introduced to The Mind Body Awareness Project’s approach to working with at-risk adolescents. Participants will learn through both experiential and didactic exercises how to use mindfulness based interventions when working with youth. Participants will learn:
1) Tools to introduce mindful self- awareness and emotional literacy to youth
2) Specific ways to structure a group to help increase authenticity and reduce resistance
3) 3 foundational principles important for establishing a mindfulness program with youth
This training is open to all levels of learning from those with no experience with mindfulness and meditation, to mental health professionals looking to expand or sharpen their skills.
The session will be held on June 7, 2015 from 10am-4pm at Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society (2701 Folsom Street, San Francisco).
