MBA Featured in May 2011 Shambhala Sun
MBA, Mindful Schools, People’s Grocery and several other partners were featured in the May 2011 Shambhala Sun Magazine article:
“Making Peace in America’s Cities: The Dalai Lama inspires a new generation of urban activists who know that inner and outer peace are one.”
The article looks at His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s participation in the upcoming Newark Peace Summit in the context of a broader effort to bring mindfulness and other contemplative practices to at-risk communities, as well as the effort to bring social change and advocacy efforts back into balance with the need for inner transformation. The piece also features reflections by Shambhala Senior Editor Barry Boyce on participating in an MBA mindfulness class at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center.
