MBA Featured in Envision 5 August 2006

Take a look at this months Envision Magazine and on page 25, you will find a thoughtful article about our work. Here is an excerpt:
A new wave of self help is sweeping western civilization. Two organizations, the MBA Project founded by Noah Levine and the Traveling Yogis are offering youth alternatives to deal with stress. While MBA, based in Southern California, deals primarily with Youth at Risk, the Traveling Yogis offer mobile facilitation to other clientele but a major portion of their yoga workshops are delivered to high school students…
The Mind Body Awareness Project is dedicated to the health and well-being of at-risk and incarcerated youth. They provide instruction in awareness-based techniques, including nonsectarian meditation and yoga, to facilitate mental health, stress reduction, anger management and self-discovery.
What was once viewed as a tool for teaching enlightenment by peace loving, flower power hippies and monks sitting in lotus position on a Tibetan Mountain-top is found within the walls of government ruled institutions such as group homes, correctional facilities and high schools…
